The Jehovah's Witnesses were founded in 1879 by a Pennsylvania businessman, Charles Taze Russell.  Well-known for their distribution of an evangelical text called "The Watchtower", Jehovah's Witnesses espouse unique beliefs compared to their catholic and protestant counterparts.
